Bio

My name is Tony, and I live in the UK, in the middle-England county of Leicestershire and have been playing the guitar since the age of 14yrs, now 75yrs, as of August 2020. Having played in bands since the early sixties, up to 2003, I now just play for leisure, and for what it's worth, decided to construct this little website and add a few of my  efforts in home recording, mainly for my own pleasure, but also in the hope that you may find them enjoyable also.

If this serves to give the visitor who may have been thinking of attempting something similar, the encouragement to have a go themselves, then it will, at the very least, have served a useful service.

The late fifties and early sixties were a magical time for me, being a fledgling guitarist, I loved the sound of most of the guitar-led instrumental records that were around at the time, my favourites, The Shadows, who started life as Cliff Richard's backing band being the trailblazers in this genre, they were also, without doubt, the most successful. I have spent my life playing the music of this era.

Having had an interest in recording for most of this time, I made a few recordings on a cheap 4-track tape machine many years ago, and was so disappointed with the result!, couldn't understand why  my efforts didn't sound just like the record!, but nowadays, with the advent of digital recording, we all have the technology making it possible to produce recordings in our own homes on a par with what we hear on the radio, at a fraction of the cost of  professional studios.
